The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
